Stele

A stele is usually a large vertical form, used as a marker. Historically, it would have been engraved with some type of identification. I began carving a totemic piece of metal in the studio with one of my grinders. That was the first of about 15 sculptures on the same theme. The largest is 24 feet tall. They are all modern, and yet have overtones of ancient civilizations.
